The Perfect Present

We have been reading a chapter book about The Perfect Present. The boy in the story is a very greedy and one minded boy. He is introduced to the idea that the best part of Christmas is helping those who are less fortunate than you are. He decides to give a gift to a child at a homeless shelter. When we finished the book yesterday the children colored a package and then wrote in the back who they would give a present to if they could, what that present would be and why they would give that gift. I have very caring and thoughtful students!

Santa's stuck! Oh no! What will we ever do???
We watched the story called Santa's Stuck.
Then we brainstormed ways to get him out.
Next the students went to work creating the scene.
As the students finished the scene they began to explain how they would help Santa out of his predicament.
We had a lot of ideas some being stop giving him goodies, with a laso and shave him out...

We are Thankful for many things

We wrote on strips of paper things we are thankful for.
We connected them and made pumpkins!
They turned out pretty cute!
The students were so proud of their work!

WebQuest Success

Your students had a lot of fun going through the webquest and taking notes about what they were learning. You should have them tell you what they learned!

Fun for attendance and behavior. We had first quarter rewards for today as a school to celebrate those who did not have any major behaviors and who had only missed one day of school or had been tardy only one time or less. The kids drew with sidewalk chalk outside and then they played volleyball with balloons and flyswatters

Pet Monster Mayhem

We had an enormous amount of fun during our Halloween celebration as we created pet monsters. The students had to make a monster that was 10 cubes wide and 10 cubes tall. They gave the monster a name filled in details about their monster and then transferred their writing to a story page.

Living vs Nonliving

The students had a marvelous time investigating earth worms and gummy worms. Yes some were grossed out, but all survived. All students were given individual gummy worms to compare to a living earthworm. The worms had a lot of fun slithering all around the desks, plates and gummies.
